MINUTES – TOWN OF BRILLION
January 10, 2017
Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Wayne Maile, Kevin Fischer, Karen Jannette present.
Mike Berken, Sharon Ott, Darryl Parkin excused.
Guests: Bob Stanelle and Richard Jankowski.
Affidavit of Posting signed by chairman and clerk.
MSC by Fischer/Maile to approve December Board Meeting Minutes.
Public Participation – Bob Stanelle asked why the Pledge of Allegiance was not cited before the board meeting. Chairman Maile stated that it was not part of the meeting when he started on the board. Discussion will take place at next board meeting when all board members are present.
New electronic building permits will need to be submitted to the state for all new construction beginning 1/1/2018. Clerk contacted building inspector to find out more. Ask Paul Birschbach to attend board meeting if necessary.
Discussion held on Town of Brillion resident that disposed of ashes in their trash cart while the ashes were still hot. The ashes caught fire in the $300,000 Advanced Disposal waste disposal truck. The contents of the truck then had to be dumped out and the Chilton Fire Department was called to extinguish the fire. The fire got so hot that the logo on the outside of the truck melted.
Clerk’s Report –
A check in the amount of $4,783 was received from the State of Wisconsin. American Transmission Company (ATC) completed construction of the Fox Energy Project Transmission Line and made payment of an adjusted one-time Environmental Impact Fee. The funds received must be used for environmental programs only.
Calumet County and The Groundwater Guardians will be offering well testing to residents once again. Discussion was held as to how we might put some of the funds we received from ATC to help cut the costs to town residents for the well testing program. Clerk will contact Dani Santry to see if this is an option.
